I am in agreement with you on most points. Like you, I was also surprised by the amount of action, and the quality of the special effects once the initial effect of the documentary style filming started to wear off. In some ways it was like a transition from Carte Blanch/Special Assignment into the realm of Sci-Fi. I think some of the humour was lost on me though. Though it was enjoyable and I was impressed, on the whole I found the movie quite harsh - suppose the gore and the language, combined with the content/context of the movie result in it being fairly heavy.
